Rocking it at school, loves cars and being around his family.
Steve is the co-founder and executive director of KCDC and oversees the running of the organization. KCDC is deeply personal for Steve as the organization was founded because of the experiences and difficulties that Steve and his wife Asha faced with their own son, who has epilepsy and development delay. They initially advertised for a physiotherapist to come out to Uganda for 6 months to provide intensive therapy for their son, but after realising how many other families were facing similar and even greater challenges, Steve, Asha and Fiona felt compelled to act and established KCDC as a community-focused child therapy centre.
I am a UK-trained Physiotherapist with 21 years of qualified experience working with people with disabilities. I came to Uganda in 2013 for 6-months of volunteering work and have been here ever since. Establishing KCDC with Steve and Asha has been one of the hardest and also most rewarding experiences I have ever had, and it’s wonderful to work with such an accomplished and dedicated team.
